Office of the Resident Coordinator

The Office of the Resident Coordinator supports the Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Country Team in providing a coordinated and harmonized response to the challenges of Cameroon's development. It is a consultative and coordinating entity whose mission is articulated around the 10 core coordination functions.

The BCR also supports the operationalization of the coordination mechanisms validated by the UN Country Team.

The 9 coordination functions

  • Strategic analysis and planning
  • Supervision of the United Nations programming cycle at the national level
  • Representation and support of the UN Secretariat and resident and non-resident UN agencies
  • Support to national coordination systems and processes
  • Development and management of common operational support services
  • Managing and preparing responses to humanitarian crises
  • External communication and advocacy
  • Resource mobilization and joint fund management
  • Supervision and overall management of the Country Team
